About Restronomics

Editorial standards

How we research, write, check and correct what we publish — and how we use AI.

Who writes

Every guide, how-to, analysis and data brief carries the name of the person accountable for it, linked to their author page. Restronomics is published by Restronaut, a technology partner for F&B and hospitality businesses.

Where our numbers come from

We go to the primary source: regulators and government data, company filings and results, and industry bodies' own publications. Every percentage, price or market figure in a piece links to its source in the sentence where it appears, and each piece lists its sources at the end with the date we checked them.

Worked examples use numbers we chose to show the calculation. They sit under a heading that says so, and they are not claims about the market.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help gather sources and draft. A named person checks every figure against its source, edits the piece and decides whether it runs. A piece does not load onto our schedule while any figure in it lacks a source link. Each piece says how it was made in a short note at the end.

Dates and updates

Pieces show when they were published, when they were last substantively updated, and when their figures were last checked. We change the updated date only when the substance changes — new figures, a new section, a correction — never to make a piece look fresh.

Corrections

If something is wrong, tell us at therestronaut@gmail.com. We fix errors of fact and add a dated note at the end of the piece saying what changed.

Summaries of other outlets

The news wire and the articles marked “Linked read” are short summaries of other publications' reporting, with a link to the original. They are labelled as such and we do not ask search engines to rank them; the original reporting belongs to its publisher.

Independence

We do not take payment for coverage, rankings or recommendations. Sponsored material is always labelled (see the media kit). When Restronaut has a commercial relationship with a product or company a piece discusses, the piece says so.
